Takeover by strategic investor Jomoo completed
Ralf Marohn appointed as new managing director at Poggenpohl
Herford, 25. August 2020. The future of the oldest kitchen brand in the world is secured: the takeover by the strategic investor Jomoo Germany, subsidiary of the Chinese Jomoo Group, is completed as planned. All contractual conditions have been fulfilled, so that the economic transition will take place on 1 September, 2020.
"Poggenpohl will remain a German kitchen brand with production in Herford that stands for sophisticated, modern design as well as high quality and reliability. Our customers can continue to rely on the high brand promise. The jobs in Herford will be retained and the entire team of employees will return Poggenpohl to its old glory and strength," the newly appointed managing director Ralf Marohn (53) told the Poggenpohl team. The experienced manager has been active as an entrepreneur for 28 years, and since 2014 he has been in charge of the kitchen manufacturer RWK & Kuhlmann Küchen GmbH in Löhne/Germany, which was taken over after insolvency proceedings. During this time, Ralf Marohn has successfully restructured and expanded RWK & Kuhlmann Küchen.
Marohn expressed special thanks to the previous Poggenpohl managing director Gernot Mang for his successful coordination during the transition. He also thanked the insolvency administrator Manuel Sack for his professional management of the company during the insolvency proceedings.
Attorney Manuel Sack, a partner in the nationwide law firm Brinkmann & Partner, said: "Together with Gernot Mang, I successfully continued operations during the insolvency proceedings, and production continued to run stably on all working days. My sincere thanks go to the customers, suppliers and employees for this. By putting their trust in a good solution for the future of this unique company they have actively supported Poggenpohl."
Ralf Marohn also paid tribute to the high degree of trust and loyalty that customers place in the Poggenpohl brand and its team. The employees in particular have been under enormous pressure since the beginning of the insolvency proceedings. "We are delighted that our customers continue to support Poggenpohl. This shows the close bond and firm belief in what Poggenpohl represents – both historically and in the future", he stated.
Poggenpohl will continue to focus strongly on product design and product innovation. The further development of regional markets both in continental Europe and overseas, such as the USA, China, India and the Middle East, will be a focus of investment. The network of existing branches and dealers will be further expanded to guarantee the high quality of Poggenpohl products and the best B2B customer service.
